Silencing the Advocate

And so the predictable pattern continues. What power to silence the advocate's voice proposing a revitalised approach to lawyers professional development. By simply closing ranks.

What irony that one of the most important roles for a lawyer is to be the advocate for a right to be heard.

There is no right to be heard within the profession unless you "know your place" - toe the line, keep your head down. Understand your position in the pecking order. Don't make waves. After all you are supposed to remain in your own swim lane. Just following the black line. Of respectability?

I am too old and too beaten down to be respectable.

It has been too much of a one way swim. Into oblivion.

So instead of simply fading away I choose to turn up and ask to play ball.

Who wants to play?
